    Nicknamed

"The Entertainer" & "Clear the Track Shack"

One could say that Shack was the fan's favourite. Although he didn't win any trophys or make the all-star team, he had more standing ovations and cheers than any othe Leaf player.
Toronto picked up Shack in a trade with New York early in the 1960-61 season.
Eddie Shack was in fact, was an entertainer, and he knew how to pick the fans up which would also invariably pick up the team as well and probably contributated to a number of Leafs wins.
He also did his fair share of scoring as well, scoring 239 goals and assisting on 226 for a point total of 465 in 1047 games during his career. He also played in 74 play-off games in which he scored 6 goals and assisted on 7 for a point total of 13.

As of May 02, 1997 as noted in the Toronto Star "Where are they now ... the 1966-67 Maple Leafs", Eddie Shack is a public speaker and professional hustler in Toronto.
