With 55 seconds remaining in the game and a face off to the left of Terry Sawchuk, Montreal pulls Worsley for a sixth skater. Allan Stanley faces off against Jean Beliveau and wins the face off. Red Kelly picks up the puck and passes it ahead to Bob Pulford who starts to skate out of the Leafs end. Pulford then notices Armstrong on the right side and passes the puck to him. Armstrong skates up the right side over center ice and then takes a shot at the empty Canadien net.
